Fr Cyriacus Okafor

My name is Fr Cyriacus Okafor. I was ordained on the 16th of August 2003 in the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, Nigeria.

I arrived in England in September 2009 and did Masters and PhD studies in Economics, and graduated from the University of Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Prior to my arrival in this Parish, I looked after St. Elizabeth Parish, Richmond for a few months.

I will greatly relish the experience of working with you, and I am well aware of the great love and support you gave to the former Parish Priest, Fr. Shaju Varkey.

I promise to continue and improve on the good works he has done in this Parish. All I ask for, is your prayers and support, and the sky will be our limit in this spiritual journey of faith and evangelization.

So far, I have been overwhelmed by the magnitude of your support and hospitality.

I have also observed the deep-rooted fraternity that cuts across the various diverse cultural backgrounds of our parishioners. This is a positive development, one that will see us grow from strength to strength in this spiritual journey.

Through the powerful intercession of our Mother, Mary, may God bless and continue to build us up in this community of love; and may the blessings of the forth-coming Christmas celebration overflow in our lives and families.
